VOICES

OF 112RESCUE

"Good interaction between fire protection, rescue, disaster and civil protection is crucial in an emergency. The Corona crisis and past severe weather disasters have left no doubt about this. The many volunteer forces are an important building block for the safety of the civilian population. Without their great potential, we would not be able to master future requirements and developments at all. Therefore, through my patronage of 112RESCUE, I would also like to express my appreciation to all emergency personnel. They give their time and sometimes their lives to save others from situations of danger and damage."

Herbert Reul (CDU), Minister of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and patron of "112RESCUE".

"The Corona pandemic, the severe weather disaster in the summer of 2021, the war in Ukraine and other dangerous situations have shown the scope that complex crises can develop. One of the tasks of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs is to further develop and strengthen health care and preparedness - which also includes rescue services and health population protection. At the new 112RESCUE trade fair for fire protection, rescue, disaster and population protection, decision-makers and users will find comprehensive and up-to-date information on rescue services, crisis management, health protection and emergency preparedness for the civilian population."

MR Bernd Schnäbelin, Head of the Department for Rescue Services and Health Civil Protection at the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs NRW

"As a conceptual partner of 112RESCUE, we are looking forward to a holistic market and product overview of already field-proven, but also future-oriented technologies, materials and objects for all areas of application."

Dr. Jan Heinisch, Chairman of the Association of Fire Departments in NRW e.V.

"In order to be able to adequately combat situations of danger and damage, firefighters are dependent on the best possible technical equipment. We will find a compact overview of forward-looking technologies and current innovations on the new 112RESCUE trade show platform at our German border neighbors. We have been cooperating with them on a project basis for some time now. Being on the same level of knowledge and equipment together is a significant factor in saving lives across borders in an emergency."

Christiaan Velthausz, contact person for Germany, Austria and Switzerland of the Dutch firefighters' association Brandweer Nederland

"One of the most important areas of operation of Malteser Hilfsdienst is emergency preparedness with the major areas of disaster control and medical services. For this purpose, Malteser Germany maintains units such as ambulance and support platoons or telecommunication platoons nationwide and is regularly involved in large-scale operations. At 112RESCUE, the new trade fair for rescue, protection and safety, we gain not only an up-to-date product overview once a year, but also numerous suggestions for making the work of Malteser even more effective and for breaking new ground to achieve this."

Dr. Sophie Gräfin von Preysing, Malteser Hilfsdienst - State and Regional Managing Director for the North Rhine-Westphalia Region

"The rescue of people from acute hazards is the link between all players in emergency response. In this context, patient care in rescue and emergency medicine according to current standards is of vital importance. The German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN), as the medical-scientific professional society for preclinical emergency medicine, offers those attending the 112RESCUE trade fair in Dortmund the opportunity to participate in scientific as well as practice-oriented lectures on current topics in rescue and emergency medicine."

Prof. Dr. med. Clemens Kill, First Chairman of the German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN), Director of the Center for Emergency Medicine at the University of Essen Medical Center.

"The task of the Institute for Fire and Rescue Technology of the City of Dortmund (IFR) is research for operational practice: In order to improve the safety and protection of the population and rescue forces on the ground, we are always looking for innovative approaches and solutions to close capability gaps and make operations faster, better and safer. Particular importance is attached to the transfer to operational practice. An annual showcase that presents forward-looking applications and technologies and brings us together with relevant providers from the fire protection, rescue, civil protection and disaster management sectors is central for us to optimally fulfill our research mission."

Dirk Aschenbrenner, Director of the Dortmund Fire Department and Head of the Institute for Fire and Rescue Technology (IFR)

"As a link between the concerns of the German Red Cross and the country's political decision-makers, it is essential to always keep up to date on the complete spectrum of disaster control, civil protection and emergency response at the German and European level. For this purpose, 112RESCUE offers a central point of contact to obtain comprehensive information and, at the same time, to maintain an exchange with DRK members and other stakeholders."

Dr. Sascha Rolf Lüder, Head of the German Red Cross Liaison Office to the State Parliament and Government of North Rhine-Westphalia (Red Cross Office NRW).

"As a federal civil protection organization, THW provides competent assistance in a wide variety of scenarios on a daily basis. For more than seven decades, our volunteers have been providing support at home and abroad with their hearts, technology and minds. In addition to good training, this requires modern equipment in order to master all challenges in the best possible way and to be able to cope with all scenarios. An annual trade fair is an attractive opportunity for us to find out about technological advances, new products and classic basic products in the fields of civil defense and disaster control. In addition, the fair offers a good platform for us to exchange ideas with friendly organizations and manufacturers."

Nicolas Hefner, THW State Representative for North Rhine-Westphalia

"Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe is a key player in emergency response in North Rhine-Westphalia. 112RESCUE is the ideal place to network with our partners. We are very much looking forward to participating and meeting together."

Armin Pullen, Head of Department Specialist Services and Facilities

"The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund in North Rhine-Westphalia is involved in civil protection with a wide range of services: from rescue services to disaster control, from water rescue to drone and dog teams. The 112RESCUE trade fair offers ASB's emergency forces on their doorstep a good networking opportunity with many actors* from the emergency response sector."

Dr. Stefan Sandbrink, Managing Director of ASB NRW e.V.

"Nothing less than the future is at stake."

Prof. Dr. Christian Melchers, Head of the Post-Mining Research Center at Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences

"With over 1.7 million members and supporters, the German Lifesaving Society (DLRG) is the largest water rescue organization in the world. Since its founding in 1913, it has made it its mission to save people from drowning.

The DLRG state associations of North Rhine and Westphalia are partners in water rescue in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Here, the DLRG has a particularly wide range of trained personnel and material at its disposal. The heavy rain catastrophe in 2021 in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate made it clear what the DLRG can do in disaster control, especially with its current rescue component. That is why it is important to participate in the 112 RESCUE trade fair and to network with our partners."

Stefan Albrecht, President DLRG Landesverband Nordrhein
