Messe Dortmund's new trade show to focus on rescue services, fire protection and safety

Messe Dortmund proudly presents its brand new trade show '112 RESCUE' which will be held for the first time between 14 and 17 June 2023. The event will be a platform for the industry to get together, share information and do business, and will focus on fire safety, rescue services, disaster control and civil defence. As such, it is set to be a wide-ranging showcase of interest to manufacturers, decision-makers and practitioners.

Dortmund, 5 April 2022 – 112 RESCUE encompasses everything of importance to fire services, rescue services and civil defence, including the areas of communications and control centre technology. As well as a comprehensive range of products for all aspects of protection and safety, the four-day trade show for German-speaking and neighbouring European countries will also put the spotlight on future applications and on practical use in hazardous situations. Messe Dortmund is once again demonstrating its feel for the issues of the day, and its innovative capability.

It's 'curtain-up' for the topics of the future

A small glimpse of 112 RESCUE, which is to be held annually, is revealed by Dr. Jan Heinisch, Chairman of VdF NRW, the Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine Westphalia, who commented: “Especially in the recent past, the Co vid crisis and extreme weather phenomena have underscored the immense importance of being prepared with state of the art technology in all areas of protection. As conceptual partner to 112 RESCUE, we're looking forward to a comprehensive overview of produc ts available to this market both field proven and leading edge technology as well as materials and items for all areas of application. The technical innovation cycle in our industry moves at breakneck speed, which is why an annual trade show presenting the latest products and acting as a platform for in depth interaction and exchange is especially important!” Christiaan Velthausz, liaison officer for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Dutch Fire Brigade Association Brandweer Nederland, agrees, adding: “To be able to combat hazardous and harmful situations properly, fire fighters need access to the very best technical equipment. The new 112 RESCUE show being held by our German neighbours will be a platform offering a compact overview of products available. We've been working with them on projects very successfully for some time now. Everyone having the same level of knowledge and equipment is a significant factor in saving lives across national frontiers in an emergency.”

360 degrees. Comprehensive. Innovative.

At the show focusing on fire protection, rescue, disaster control and civil defence trade visitors will find a correspondingly wide ranging line up of exhibitors: from vehicles and vehicle equipment, fire and rescue stations and operations centres to professional clothing, medical technology including sanitary equipment, rescue tools and equipment, fire fighting technology and extinguishing agents, measuring equipment, communication and control centre technology, and even matters associated with isolation and decontamination . 112 RESCUE focuses comprehensively on products and services in all major safety related disciplines. This also includes public sector institutes for occupational accident insurance and prevention, training providers and the trade press. Particular emphasis will be put on the categories of Networking & Digitalisation, Innovations & Trends, and Metropolitan Regions & Urban Areas. For Countess Dr Sophie von Preysing, Regional Director of Malteser Hilfsdienst in North Rhine W estphalia, comprehensive information is also a priority: “Dealing with emergencies is one of the key areas covered by the Malteser aid organisation including paramedic ambulance services and major disaster response. To this end, Malteser maintains resour ces such as ambulance and support units and telecommunications units across

Germany, and is regularly involved in large scale deployments. 112 RESCUE, the new B2B rescue, protection and safety show, will give us an up to date overview of products once a year plus numerous suggestions for making Malteser International's work even more effective, and for breaking new ground to achieve this.” Accompanying the show will be a practice oriented training and support programme featuring acknowledged experts in the industry, and live demonstrations covering numerous subject areas

“With its new B2B trade show, 112 RESCUE, which will bring users and industry together once a year, Messe Dortmund is creating a go to hub for leading edge technologies, products and servic es for modern rescue services. Experts in the fire services, rescue services, equipment services (such as Germany's THW), relief organisations and the entire disaster control sector will encounter an extremely compact range of exhibitors here and have the

opportunity to obtain comprehensive information, stay up to date and network with industry colleagues,” explained chief show organiser Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue. “A nother particularly unique selling point which 112 RESCUE benefits from is its strong focus on safety and rescue services in urban areas.”
