Very first 112RESCUE civil protection show ready to roll

New buyer-meets-seller platform to present solutions, products and components in the struggle against all kinds of hazardous situations

The new 112RESCUE show between 14 and 17 June is set to concentrate comprehensively on the fire fighting, rescue service, civil defence and disaster control sectors. The new 'blues-and-twos' show will be offering manufacturers, decision-makers and users an overview of current and future technologies, applications and products for all civil protection requirements.


Dortmund, 14 June 2023 – The very first 112RESCUE is ready to roll from 14 to 17 June with a mix of exhibitors including famous-name producers and suppliers, a variety of conventions and symposia and a highly informative supporting programme. The new show for 'blues-and-twos' disciplines is also going into battle for visibility, equality and appreciation of female emergency services personnel in a special 'WOMEN IN RESCUE' speciality zone. There will also be a host of networking opportunities for everyone involved in rescue and fire safety, plus a special Meet & Greet Area where experts and interested parties will be able to establish face-to-face contact with well-known brand ambassadors.


The importance of the new platform for all essential areas of public safety and emergency response is affirmed by not one – but two – government ministries, with the North Rhine Westphalia State Ministry of the Interior and the NRW State Ministry of Labour, Health & Social Affairs both acting as patrons of the show.


Open-stage keynote talks and a wealth of subject matter in speciality zones


RESEARCH & FUTURE

The RESEARCH & FUTURE innovation hub in Hall 5 will give leading research institutes, start-ups and forward-looking businesses in all key areas of civil protection a major forum for talks, round-table discussions and interviews, demonstrations and the latest trends and research output.

CAREER CAMPUS – the careers hotspot for education and training

where universities, training centres, associations and institutions will present a comprehensive range of further education and training offerings. The Campus at 112RESCUE in Hall 4 will also include a job fair and short lecture slots.

Safety Research Days

A speciality zone in Hall 6 will be dedicated to the latest findings in systematic analysis and risk control. The event will take place on the first three days of the show, focusing on topics such as introduction and the overall environment, future technologies, hygiene and the environment, current challenges and poster sessions. The Safety Research Days are a project undertaken by the Research Committee of the Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine Westphalia (VdF NRW) and the THGA Post-Mining Research Centre.

WOMEN IN RESCUE

A unique feature of the new show is set to be visibility of, and networking between, women engaged in fire protection, rescue services, civil defence and disaster control. In collaboration with various partners, 112RESCUE is specifically dedicated to the potential of women and offers them a platform in the traditionally male-dominated domains of fire and rescue.

During this open-stage event, the WOMEN IN RESCUE Award will also be presented for the first time on Saturday 17 June 2023. The honour is intended to recognise an outstanding individual for their courage, dedication and unparalleled commitment to rescue and protection.


Deep-dives into key specialisms

For example, the show will be covering the issue of flood protection where players will include the DLRG, the world's largest water rescue organisation, and others providing information on water hazards and rescue services on the water. Specialist supplier Matschke & Müller, a worldwide supplier of fire-fighting boats, will also be on the open-air exhibition grounds presenting boats for rescue operations, technical assistance and deployment options in waterways and flood zones.


The importance of the new 112RESCUE is also reflected in the participation of Israeli company Inovytec. The global medical technology specialist is bringing the latest life-saving respiratory and heart failure solutions to the show. The specialist topic of decontamination in pollutant clean-up, in the use of mobile techniques for civil defence and disaster control and in the medical field will be presented by developer and producer Deconta who will be unveiling a portable contamination control building.


Digitalisation will also be highlighted complete with aspects such as AI-controlled fire detection, drones as sensor platforms in situational awareness or digital nationwide networking in crisis management (with talks being given in the RESEARCH & FUTURE speciality zone).


In Hall 6, the new show will be highlighting the aspects of sporting fitness, training and challenge, with sports enthusiasts able to experience what being a champion feels like at stands such as that of FireSports Dortmund, one of the organisers of fire brigade competitions. Those interested will also learn about the training programmes of the Balanceschmiede Centre for Applied Sports Science as well as the numerous young people's sporting opportunities in VdF NRW, the Association of Fire Brigades in North Rhine Westphalia.


Broad range of exhibitors in all safety-related areas

Suppliers, institutions, organisations and associations from across Germany and beyond will be spread across four halls and the outdoor facilities. Among them will be the company Carl Henkel. This high-end equipment supplier for extreme rescue operations is showing a firefighting robot made by Shark robotics from France. A converted hydrogen vehicle is also eagerly awaited at the Sonderfahrzeugbau Henkel special vehicle construction stand. Maxisgruppe, a specialist in mobility and security solutions, will be showing things such as an armoured emergency ambulance (a unique exhibition highlight). Other vehicles will be presented by INEOS and LUEG. Specialist vehicles are also the focus of Johanniter Unfallhilfe, the emergency response wing of the German St John's Ambulance service, who will be presenting UNIKE – their own Universal Disaster Response Unit as well as a Unimog emergency ambulance and a new amphibious vehicle. Also in attendance is air rescue specialist DRF Luftrettung which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The non-profit organisation's mission is to effect the fastest possible airborne emergency rescues and conduct intensive care transfers using helicopters and ambulance aircraft. A DRF helicopter will also be on display in Hall 4.


Interesting insights are also sure to be had from Desautel, the French market leader in fire fighting vehicles. This long-established family business specialises in the development and manufacture of fire safety and firefighting equipment for production, transport, chemicals companies, in-plant firefighting services and municipal users. As an expert in fire safety and firefighting, ICONOS will also be in Dortmund with proven solutions and applications. These are used, among other things, in combating large-scale forest fires. Flamecoach, a source of virtual reality fire safety training, will be offering expert visitors insights into the computerised future of fire safety simulation. The German Rescue Robotics Centre (DRZ) will be providing information on new ways to protect and save lives through the use of robots. A unique network of users, researchers and companies bundles important core competences, creating innovative, demand-led technologies for practical applications. Greater safety, ease and protection during fire operations is also offered by the wide range of high-end protective clothing from S-GARD, a developer of innovative clothing for 130 years.

Meet & Greet Area with brand ambassadors

Hall 6 will also be playing host to popular brand ambassadors in the fire and rescue sectors with whom you will be free to engage in informal conversation. Standing up for female power on social media channels are Ann-Sophie Keszler, probably the most successful female brand ambassador for the rescue sector, and Sina Setale as well as Celina Woll. Other popular brand ambassadors are Luis Teichmann and Christian Mahnsen, André Willer, Niklas Röder, Maik Stelli, Bernd Ültzhöfer, Marvin Giesswein and Florian Just.


Top-notch convention programme

The German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN) is organising the specialist convention on rescue and emergency medicine in the Bergen & Novgorod Hall on 15 June. The DGRN will also be organising the specialist convention on 16 June in collaboration with the North Rhine Westphalia Emergency Doctors' Syndicate (AGNNW). On the first day of the convention, Prof Dr Clemens Kill, Senior Chairman of the DGRN and Director of the Centre for Emergency Medicine at the University Medical Centre Essen, and Prof Dr Philipp Kümpers, Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Münster University Hospital, will chair the topic “Survival possible!” (12:30 to 14:00 hrs). Other specialist talks will provide high-quality input on “Communication at the interface” (10:30 to 12:00 hrs) and “The special case – presenting cases that are anything but run-of-the-mill” (15:00 to 16:30 hrs). On the second day, the agenda will include further presentations on “Mixed Martial Arts in Emergency Medicine” (10:30 to 12 00 hrs) and an “Emergency Medicine Update on Cardiovascular, Traumatological and Pre-Clinical Paediatric Emergencies” (12:30 to 14:00 hrs).

Navigating into the future of German Rescue Service Symposia

The national symposium on present and future topics will be held at Messe Dortmund on 17 June 2023 as a hybrid event within 112RESCUE. It is being organised jointly by the Regensburg section of the Bavarian Red Cross, the Centre for Emergency Medicine of the University Medical Centre Essen, the Rescue Service Partnership in Schleswig-Holstein, the Centre for Emergency Medicine of the University Hospital Marburg and the Central Hesse branch of the German Red Cross rescue service, ably assisted by the German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN).

The focus will be on “Competence and Qualification”, the “Future of Emergency Care”, “Rescue Services in Europe” and a “Keynote Talk”. In addition, Peter Benz and Mathias Leister from the THW heavy rescue plant operator will give a presentation on the challenges facing the THW's Rapid Response Unit for Foreign Recovery in Turkey starting at 16:30 hrs.
