Under the patronage of Herbert Reul (CDU), Minister of the Interior of the German State of North Rhine Westphalia, Messe Dortmund is to hold the first-ever 112RESCUE show, a leading-edge event for all essential areas of public safety and emergency response. The new trade show is to be held between 14 and 17 June 2023 and will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for decision-makers and buyers in the fields of fire safety, rescue services and civil defence.
Dortmund, 2 December 2022 – 112RESCUE, the new information, communication and commercial platform, is now to be held once a year, showcasing leading-edge technologies, materials, products and services for the fire services, rescue services, disaster control and civil defence sectors. The target audience includes those involved in municipalities, support services, science and research, further education and vocational training. A large number of partners are already supporting the new event and will be adding their expertise to the supporting programme which will feature a whole range of cutting-edge topics. Networking is also a priority, giving everyone involved in rescue and fire safety opportunities to establish contact with each other across all disciplines, share experiences and grow their personal networks.
One third of Germany's full-time fire-fighters based in NRW
“With 112RESCUE, Messe Dortmund is once again demonstrating its strong innovative flair in developing important forward-looking trade shows, and is finally giving the fire safety services and rescue services a superb common platform to present themselves and their capabilities. All this is happening in a city that's part of a conurbation of 10 million people – one of the largest in Europe and yet centrally accessible from anywhere in Germany and its neighbouring BeNeLux and German-speaking countries,” said Sabine Loos, chief show organiser and Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue. She continued: “Addressing a rich diversity of topics, 112RESCUE now sees Messe Dortmund filling an important gap in the trade show calendar.”
Herbert Reul (CDU), Minister of the Interior in the State of North Rhine Westphalia and Patron of 112RESCUE underlined the importance of this new industry get-together, saying: "Good interaction between fire safety, rescue services, disaster control and civil defence is crucial in emergency situations. The Covid crisis and recent severe weather disasters have left no doubt about that. The many volunteer forces play a key role in keeping the civilian
population safe. Without their great potential, it would not be possible to master future requirements and developments.
Therefore, through my patronage of 112RESCUE, I also want to express my appreciation to all emergency services. They give their time – and sometimes their lives – to save others from dangerous and harmful situations.” Prof Clemens Kill (M.D.), Senior Chair of the German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN) and director of the Centre for Emergency Medicine at the University Medical Center of Essen, is also taken with the new industry platform: “Rescuing people from acute danger is the common thread for everyone involved in
hazard prevention. Providing patient care through up-to-the-minute specialist emergency and rescue medical disciplines is of vital importance. As the medical-scientific professional society for preclinical emergency medicine, the German Society for Rescue Services and Preclinical Emergency Medicine (DGRN) will offer visitors to 112RESCUE in Dortmund the opportunity to attend scientific lectures and practice-led talks on current topics in rescue and
emergency medicine.”
